The process of connection and integration between people, businesses, and governments all across the world is known as globalization. Because of advancements in transportation and communication technology, globalization has accelerated since the 18th century.
I would argue that globalization is an ideologically-based and driven concept and is essentially a meta-narrative that is used to justify the desires of some powerful vested interests.
Globalization, in my opinion, does not lead to cultural affinities, but rather to a greater understanding of cultural diversity.
