  • Slidkalniņš: 1
  • have you ever wonder what is erosion, deposition and cost lines?
  • Slidkalniņš: 2
  • Second is deposition, Deposition happens when the rocks, sand, and soil carried by water are dropped in another place. This can create features such as beaches, sand dunes, and spits.
  • First, let's talk about erosion! Erosion is the wearing away and movement of rocks and soil by natural forces such as waves, rivers, wind, and ice.
  • Along coastlines, powerful waves can hit cliffs and slowly break them apart. This can cause cliffs to become smaller and form features such as caves, arches, and stacks.
  • Slidkalniņš: 3
  • 1. Cave: A cave forms when waves erode and weaken the rock along cracks or faults in a headland. Over time, the opening becomes larger.
  • Third, let's talk about the coastal lines, A coastline is the boundary where the land meets the sea. Coastlines are constantly changing because of erosion and deposition caused by waves and weather.
  • 2. Arch: As erosion continues, the cave can break through the headland, creating an arch. Waves keep widening the arch and wearing away the rock.
  • 3. Stack: The roof of the arch eventually becomes too weak to support itself and collapses. This leaves an isolated column of rock called a stack.
  • Well, we already finished talking about erosion now it's about the landforms:
  • 4. StunkErosion continues to attack the stack, causing it to become smaller and lower. Eventually, only a small piece of rock remains, called a stump.
