The battle of Lexington and Concord was the first real battle of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775. On April 18, 1775 hundreds of British troops march from Boston to Concord to seize arms. Word got out and American military men mobilized to stop the British and intercept them from getting the arms cache. A meeting in Lexington started the battle and the British started retreating under intense fire.

The battle of Bunker Hill took place in Massachusetts on June 17, 1775. The battle was massive as there was a total of 5,400 soldiers. 3,000 for the British and 2,400 for the Americans. Casualties for America were 450 and the British reported 1,054 casualties. Although the British pulled out victorious the Americans put up a very good fight and it showed they could hold their ground against the much larger British army.
