- Hans Christian Oersted, he said that when a current was switched on through a wire, it made a compass needle turn so that it was a right angles to the wire. He showed that there was a connection between electricity and magnetism.
- Andre Marie Ampere, he proposed Ampere's Law, which affirms that the reciprocal activity of two sizes of current-carrying wires is symmetrical to their dimension and also to their current intensities.
- James Clerk Maxwell, A Dynamical Theory of the Electromagnetic Field. He proposed that light is an undulation in the same medium that is the cause of electric and magnetic phenomena.
- Heinrich Rudolf Hertz, he demonstrated that the electromagnetic waves predicted by Maxwell actually exist. He predicted that there should be light with even longer wavelengths than infrared light.
