- Salva arrives at Rochester, New York. He meets his new family and gets new clothes. They teach him more English and he gets used to his surroundings. Finally, Salva's endless cycle of running away and suffering is over.
- Resolution
- Salva gets an email from his cousin. It says that his father is alive and at a hospital in Uganda. Salva travels there to see him. There, his dad tells him his family is alive. Salva is extremely happy. Salva's life without his family is over now.

- After returning from his visit with his dad, Salva wants to help the people in Sudan in someway. He has an idea. Now, the others in Sudan won't have to go through what Salva went through.

- Salva makes an organization called water for South Sudan, an organization where him and his workers drill wells so people can have fresh water. He returns to South Sudan to start drilling wells. He decides to help the Nuer people too. Nya, a girl from the Nuer tribe, is so glad that she doesn't have to walk 8 hours a day to get dirty water. She thanks Salva for his work. Now, people all over Sudan don't have to walk far to get water. This is the new normal for them.
