- The book Holes starts with a boy named Stanley Yelnats. His family is known to have a curse in his family for many generations and was even to Camp Green Lake because of it.
- Climax
- Stanley's family has a curse caused by Elya Yelnats I. He was told by a woman named Madame Zeroni to carry a pig up a mountain and let it drink water so it can get stronger too. Then, he would carry Zeroni up the mountain as well. Days later he boarded a boat to America forgetting to carry Zeroni up the the Mountain cursing him and his family for all of eternity
- Falling Action
- Stanley was wrongly accused of stealing shoes of a man named Clyde Livingston who was a well known baseball player at a homeless shelter. He was sentenced 18 months at Camp Green Lake.
- Resolution
- After Stanley and Zero ran away and found refuge on God's thumb, they decided to return back to camp and find some treasure. When they found the treasure, the Warden, Mr Sir, and Mr Pedanski were all there holding their guns at the lizards, Stanley, and Zero
- When the lawyer arrived she was arguing with the Warden because she was saying that Stanley and Zero stole her treasure. Then, Zero saw that the suitcase had Stanley's name on it. After it was confirmed, the Warden, Mr Sir, and Mr Pedanski were arrested and Zero and Stanley got to leave Camp Green Lake and go home.
- After Stanley and Zero got home. they decided to open the suitcase. When they did, it filled to the brim with gold and two checks for 25,000 dollars which would cost millions in the 2000's. Zero hired private investigators to find his long, lost mother and he did then Zero had a reunion with his mother. Now Stanley and Zero get to live a regular life with a little bit of traumatizing memories.
