- Ever since Emma was a kid, she always loved soccer. After watching the finals of a soccer match. she decided that she could play too! She searched online for a local soccer team to play with and after hours of searching, she finally found one! And the team had an opening as well. She was a little nervous, but she still decided to join anyway. Whats the worst that could happen? She was so excited that she called her Mum to tell her about it! "Mum, I'm joining the soccer team!" she chirped.

- At first, Emma was excited, however the other girls in her team seemed distant from her. On the first training session the coach told them to go on a run, but the other girls purposely left her behind. "That's ok." she thought. They probably just need some time to get to know her. Then they would become best friends. She tried to talk to them, but they simply brushed her off. This made Emma a little bit upset but she still pushed though. Maybe the other girls were just a bit nervous around her. So, Emma thought that with a little time and effort they would become quite close.

- Over the next few weeks, during training the other girls would be mean to her, especially when the coach wasn't around. They would tell her to "leave the team.", and that "Your spot could have gone to someone who actually knew how to play the game." She started to feel down about going to practice. Emma wanted them to talk to her more but not like this! Emma started to not want to go to practice anymore. But maybe if she just ignored it, they would stop? But she didn't fully ignore it, as much as she would have liked to think nothing of it, her mental health started drop. The mean things that they were saying were starting to get through to her.
