  • Mr. White, Mrs. White, and Herbert are talking with Sergeant Major Morris in their living room. It is day-time and there is a fire in the fireplace.

  • There is a conflict between Mr. White and the monkey's paw in this scene. Sergeant Major Morris wishes for them not to have the paw but Mr. White's curiosity takes over him. He retrieves the paw.
  • Falling Action
  • Sergeant Major Morris leaves their house, then Mr. White makes a wiwith the monkey's paw for 200 pounds, then they find out that Herbert died and as compensation, they received 200 pounds.
  • Resolution
  • Mr. White hears someone knocking on the door in their bedroom and Mr. White says it was just a mouse, but Mrs. White does not believe him so she starts going down stairs to find out for herself.
  • The knocking on the door is getting louder and louder and Mrs. White breaks free from Mr. White and then Mr. White tries to find the monkey's paw to make a final wish.
  • Mrs. White un-bolts the door and looks to see if anyone is there, but nobody is because Mr. White made his third and final wish.
