Once, Saint Peter was fasting for a day and was very hungry that he felt he was about to faint.
He saw a little woman baking some cakes and asked her to give a piece of it.
The cake the woman first baked seemed too big for her to give away. She then tried to bake a smaller cake but it seemed as big as the first one.
She then baked a thin wafer with a tiny scrap of dough but still wasn't able to give it away. She decided to keep all those cakes in a shelf and prepare another cake but the saint lost his patience.
Enough now! I have been waiting for too long for you to give me just a piece of cake. You are just being selfish!
The saint grew angry as he was hungry and faint and such a woman was enough to provoke him.
Saint peter cursed her to change into a bird. She went through the chimney and found herself as a woodpecker.
