- Joseph was thrown into a pit by his brothers because they were jealous as he was the favoured son and had dreams of greatness and could interpret dreams. Reuben wanted to come and get his brother later when the other brothers weren't there but when he came back he was gone.
- Joseph's brothers saw traders coming up the road and sold Joseph for silver. The brothers were trying to come up with something to tell their father so they ripped up Josephs coat and killed an animal and put the blood on the coat and went back to their father and told him he was killed by a mountain lion.
- Joseph was taken to Egypt by the traders and was bought by Potiphar who was the Pharaoh's right hand man and who ran his household. After years of working for him Potiphar was impressed with him and he liked him.
- Potiphar's wife like Joseph and so when her husband was out of their house and she was alone with Joseph she told him she liked him. Being loyal to his master, he said that he didn't think of her like that and tried to run away. Potiphar's wife was angry and embarrassed that she was rejected so she told people that he attacked her and he was put in prison.
- Joseph was in prison with two other people, the butler and baker, Joseph interpreted their dreams and told the butler that in 3 days he would be let out and freed and then her told the baker that in 3 days he would be killed . Sure enough in 3 days that came true although the baker thought he was wrong because he was let out too, but they only took him out to take him to kill him.
- The pharaoh had a dream that he was standing on the banks of the river Nile and seven fat cows came up out of the river and started eats the lush green grass and then 7 skinny cows came up out of the river and ate the 7 fat cows.
