Going on the Trip
One day I was out on my porch trying to get away from the heat. I saw my neighbors out talking so I asked to come over to chat. They started telling me about a bunch of gold that people were finding in California.
Almost there
After listening to my neighbors talk about this gold rush, I decided it was a good opportunity to get money. Since I was already well off I could pay some men to mine gold for me. I started making plans to leave for San Francisco, California.
Arriving
I made plans to get on a train. The train was the fastest way to get there and I didn't want to wast anytime. Even though it was more expensive than other means of transportation I think it would be worth it.
Getting Settled In
The train ride to get to San Francisco was horrible. It was unbearably hot and sweaty. The train was loud but not louder than the the lady that sat in front of me. People were crammed in like sardines, all trying to get to the same place.
Once I arrived in San Francisco I was so excited. I would hire men immediately and start letting the money flow. I can tell from all the people that they had the sane idea in mind.
I found the house I bought and was quite pleased. It's a one story house but is very nice. I also met a few of the people in town who were very welcoming.
