My name is Adrian Martinez and I am here to teach about why Digital Citizenship is important for 9th graders.
We will go over on how to protect yourself, connect, properly communicate and maintain respectful language.

As we navigate the internet be respectful when connecting with others. Avoid confrontational words and inappropriate language.
Failure to do so may lead to toxic relationships with friends or others on social media that may cause a backlash to you.
When engaging with others on social media there is no body language through text so text clearly.
If you feel an interaction is weird follow your gut and cut it off especially when interacting with strangers.

In order to navigate safely you need to determine the legitimacy of a site you visit.
As some of you are aware the internet is easily accessible and prone to house viruses
By following all these tips and tricks you will be able to navigate the internet with an appropriate level of digital citizenship.
Legitimacy of a site is important due to information being false but presented as true on the internet.
In order to avoid this verify the source by comparing the domain to other sites of similar information. Doing so prevents security risk.
