- This story begins from the perspective of a nymph named Echo who was cursed by the goddess Hera to only speak what she hears.
- When she went our on a walk she came across a handsome man named Narsissus,she instantly fell in love with this man ,but he was ignorant and took it for granted.That was his act of hubris.
- But Echo didn't care she followed him around relentlessly only able to repeat .
- Then they came upon a pond and Narsissus took a glance, he fell in love with his own reflection unable to move he sat there for the rest of his life and Echo was there beside him.
- It could be interpreted as saying don't take everything for granted and don't love others or yourself too muck spread everything out.
