  • 1945-1946: The Nuremberg Trials are held for the purpose of bringing Nazi war criminals to justice. 24 leaders are tried and evidence is heard against 21 defendants. In October of 1946, a verdict is reached.

  • To all United States citizens, I am here today to officially announce the conclusion of WWII. Both Germany and Japan have surrendered, leaving our country and many others in a postwar period.
  • May 8, 1945: Germany officially surrendered.September 2, 1945: Japan officially surrendered after the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
  • Postwar: Many women were forced to work at home, but, some chose to stay in the workplace. For those who continued, there was male prejudice, but, it was still improvement in society compared to before the war.
  • Although the war was treacherous, I am grateful that our population was finally given the opportunity to join the workforce and make a difference.
  • I agree, plus, the extra money I am making has allowed me to finally be able to support my family.
