- St Albans Battle-1455This was the first battle of the Wars of the Roses.Queen Margeret, who was fighting for the rights of her husband demanded that York gave up their powers but York refused and so the battle started. York wins and King Henry was captured.
- Northampton Battle-1460This important battle occurred on 10 July 1460 and led to the capture of Henry VI. Many people died including very important Lancastrian people, even Lancastrian soldiers tried to escape via the River Nene in fright but it overflowed so many drowned anyway.York won this battle.
- Wakefield Battle-1460After capturing Henry at Northampton, Richard of York forced the king to transfer all his rights to himself.The king’s wife Margaret, refused to acknowledge the settlement and marched south with an army led by the Duke of Somerset. Some say that Margeret was a bit of a she-wolf. This battle then took place in Sandal Castle with the Lancastrians claiming victory.
- Towton Battle-1460At the second battle of St Albans King Henry was rescued but while imprisoned Richards son Edward had become king making two kings from different houses ruling at once. During the battle the Lancastrains took off their armour to run away faster but this just in turn made them an easy target and York won.
- Barnet Battle-1471This battle was known for its bad weather, there was a lot of fog which helped the Yorkist army take advantage of the Lancastrians and win the battle. The Earl of Warwick also died in this battle. Edwards victory was followed by 14 years of Yorkist rule over England.
- Bosworth Battle-1485This was the last significant battle of the Wars of the Roses. This battle was won by the Lancastrians. Richard iii was killed in this battle. Another significant thing that happened was that Richard iii was the last monarch to die in battle ever. After winning the battle, Henry Tudor became the first monarch of the Tudor dynasty.
