- When the king of Alba Longa died his younger brother Amulius became king and so no one could steal his throne had his nephews killed and his neice Rhea Silvia became a priestess.She was not allowed to have babies.
- Rhea had twins with mars the roman god of war.Because Amulius was so scared of mars he didn't kill Rhea he threw her into prison and told a slave to throw the babies into the river.
- The servant did what he was told but felt sorry for the babies in the river.
- One day, a shepard found the two boys and took them to be looked after by him and his wife.They called the boys Romulus and Remus.
- Remus was kidnapped by Amulius' men, then Romulus went to rescue his twin and killed Amulius.
- Romulus and Remus decided to build their own city but got in a fight and Romulus killed Remus.Romulus built his own cityand named it 'Rome' after himself.It was completed on the twenty-first of April 753 BCE.
