Expositie: Het is begin 1900 en Moon Shadow, een jonge jongen van slechts 7 jaar oud, gaat bij zijn vader, die hij niet heeft ontmoet, in Amerika wonen. Als Chinese immigranten in San Francisco staan Moon Shadow, zijn vader en hun uitgebreide familie voor veel uitdagingen bij het runnen van een succesvolle wasserette.
Rising Action: De verwoestende aardbeving in San Francisco van 1906 treft het gebied en er vindt enorme vernietiging plaats.
Climax: Windrider voltooit zijn vliegtuig en iedereen komt opdagen om hem te helpen het de heuvel op te duwen en hem te zien vliegen.
Vallende actie: na een paar minuten vliegen stort het vliegtuig neer, waardoor Windrider een paar gebroken botten heeft, maar een blij hart.
Oplossing: het bedrijf maakt van Windrider een partner in het bedrijf, zodat hij zijn vrouw naar Amerika kan overbrengen.
