Two of her friends were shot as well.
lOn October 9th 2012 Malala Yousafzai was shot on the bus by the Taliban. She was very lucky because their was two doctors to treat her before she was sent to a hospital. She was shot in the head but the bullet ended up grazing her brain.

Malala was shot and sent to a lot of hospitals but would get most of her major treatments at Birmingham hospital. She had been very lucky that the bullet didn't hit her brain but parts of her skull bashed into her brain. She had this one surgery where her skull had to be placed in her belly! She was in the hospital for nearly 80 days!
She is going to be okay.

Malala would end up to survive by a miracle and would go on to keep speaking out for girls rights. She had to do a lot of therapy to get back to her old self. Malala never lived at Pakistan again because the Taliban said they would kill her so she lives in Birmingham now. She went back to Pakistan a few times to visit but she was guarded by the military.
