Description - During 1215, a group of barons under the rule of King John of England forced him to agree to sign a list of rules to follow, called the Great Charter.Effect - When the Founding Fathers was making American they took inspiration from this to make the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Enlightenment / 1685 - 1815
Description - This was a law that was mostly unwritten which allowed North American colonies to be on their own with little British involvement.Effect - The American colonies were becoming conformable without the British.
English Bill of Rights - 1689
Description - The Navigation Acts were before the French war so that Americans had to sell only to Britian or pay a tax to them. After the war with the French the British was now in war debt and had to find a way to earn that money back.Effect - Smuggling became a common thing within the colonies to by pass the law.
Great Awakening / 1720 - 1740
Description - This was the period of scientific, political and philosophical achivements and the age of great philosophers that changed European society.Effect - This would bring great people like John Locke and thomas hobbes who give the people the idea that everyone is equal.
Description - The bill was made for constitutional and civil rights for the British people and also gave Parliament power over the monarchy.Effect - This bill will be the main inspiration for the Bill of Right later on.
Description - The Great Awakening was a religious revisit back into faith which impacted the colonies and brought back religion in the lives of the colonies.Effect - This would bring religion back in view of people with some using it to write certain books and how people have certain God given rights.
