This ruin the entire plan and Simoun is exposed as traitor eventually ended up being chased by the Guardia Civil.

- On his deathbed, Simoun tells Padre Florentino everything. his full name and what he'd been doing the full Noli and the others. Florentino listens to the full story and this takes the better part of the day and when all that is said and done someone finally and does actually die.
