Dude based on what the teacher said in class regarding the trail of tears I think that was an act of genocide from the Americans
I agree,even though they gained civil rights and self-determination,The teacher said they still face challenges today

Native Americans lost ancestral lands,a lot of population,and they lost traditional lifeways because of forced assimilation.
