Siddhartha grew up a Hindu Prince. He was very wealthy and rich. As he grew up he started to study with gurus and ascetics. He also left to become a part of Buddism.
Upanishads
Meditation is a great peice to study from the Upanishads.
Siddhartha's dad wanted him to be a ruler and not a holy man. He would force him to have guards with him at all times. The guards would sheild him from seeing anything unpleasent or disturbing.
I will reach enlighten-ment for staying here for 49 days.
You must learn the Upanishads and apply them to life.
When he was about 29 he snuck outside without guards. He saw a toothless man leaning on a stick, a man shrunken by a disease. a dead man, and a wandering holy man.
Siddhartha started to study with Hinduy gurus. He learned meditation and teaching of the Upanishads. For six years he had barely any food and wore the same scratchy clothes.
He then went under a tree known as the Bodhi Tree. He meditated for 49 days. Thid helped him understand the cycle of re-birth, death, and birth. He reached the final goal of Buddism which is enlightenement.
After he had reached enlightenmrnt he went back to the world to teach others what he learned. Also, he went around India for 45 years sharing his story.
