  • The 2nd Wave of the invasion was a series of massive, global tsunamis triggered by the others dropping huge metal rods onto geological fault lines. It wiped out the world's coastlines and drowned roughly three billion people, forcing all remaining survivors to flee inland.
  • "Forty billion tons of metal dropped from space directly onto the world's geological fault lines. The result: massive tsunamis. Say goodbye to every coastal city on Earth... three billion dead."(Yancey 27).
