  • Hey I'm Oki a red blood cell who starts her day in the Left ventricle and today we're gonna take a tour to the hand.
  • After going through the aortic valve and now in the aorta. The Aorta is used for getting the blood out of the heart. The next stop will be out of the Left subclavian artery.
  • This is my body, the thing that controls all the movement and stuff. Now these arrows show the route were going to take to get After leaving the left subclavin arterywe're going into the Axillary artery, which goes down the ulnar artery which is located in the forearm and then the last stop is the deep Palmer artery. Now enough with all the vocabulary stuff, lets look around at the purpose of getting all these red blood cells like me intothe hand. When the body is hot, blood flow increases to the hand to reduce heat, however when were cold blood flow reducesto keep a more central body heat to stay warm.
  • Now we have successfully made it allthe way down to the hand YAYYY!!However the tour has just begun, we're about half way. Going down is easynow were going up but in order to do thatwe have to pass through the capillary, kindalike the gate guard. After going throughthe capillary in the hand were now going toturn blue meaning were in veins now, headed back to the heart. We're going to go through 2 veins to getback to the heart, kinda a straight roadjust straight up. The cephalic and left subclavian veins. After going through both of those we're back into the heart, but not where we started.
  • Back to the HEART for now...Entering through the superiorvena cava and making myway through the main parts of the heart like first the rightventricle, and Pulmonarysemilunar valve, then we are going to go through the right pulmonary artery to go outto the lungs and since we left the heart we need to get backonto a vein called the LEFT pulmonary vein, now being oxygenated we will go into theheart through the left atrium, the biscupid valve and now werefinally back to where we startedthe left ventricle!!!
  • Thanks for coming on the red blood cell tour it was great having you! Ihope you learned a few things fromme and Oki (my red blood cell) see you later, alligator!
