Vimy Ridge

April 9, 1917 at 5:30am was when the battle of Vimy Ridge began, Canada came out of their trench and started moving towards the Germans.
The soldiers used a new strategy called "creeping barrage" this was when the soldiers fired bombs then went out after to get closer to the other trench.
After the Canadian success at Vimy Ridge everyone was so happy because this is where Canada proved themselves and showed how they could fight and win.
Since Canada had such a great success at Vimy Ridge they had the incredible opportunity to sign the Treaty of Versailles.
