- Death and rebirth
- Zelie has lost her ability to use magic after the king has his guards carve the word "Maggot'' into her back.
- Resurrection
- Zelie uses her anger to motivate her and she connects to her ancestors while holding the sunstone. Zelie feels that every soul and person had magic in them. Zelies mom comes back in this process.
- Seizing the sword
- Zelies mom dies again but this time Zelie goes with her. But then her Mom tells her its not her time and she gains conciseness again.
