The Battle of New Orleans took place after the war had ended, but resulted in a victory for the US. Major General Andrew Jackson kept the city secure with the help of militiamen, free African Americans, Native Americans, and anyone else able to fight. The win resulted in a big boost of American morale.

The Battle of Ft. McHenry was when the British Navy, wanting to take control of Chesapeake Bay, attacked Ft. McHenry, a key defensive position. The American success boosted morale and showed that the US could stand up to British forces.This battle inspired Francis Scott Key to write "The Star Spangled Banner."
