The Camping Trip

Exposition
It is a beautiful sunny morning at Katie's apartment when Julie comes over to Katie's house for a visit. Katie, who loves the outdoors, asks Julie if she would like to try camping. Julie agrees so the girls decide to go get ready.
Hey Julie! Want to go camping?
Sure!
Conflict
Once the girls reach the trail that will lead to their campsite, they grab their bags and start walking. Katie and Julie decide their goal will be to stay the entire night out in the wilderness even though Julie is nervous because she has never been camping before.
What could go wrong?

Rising Action
At first everything was going well. The girls sat around the heat of the fire roasting marshmallows while the warm air turned chilly with the coming night. They told each other ghost stories and laughed when Julie nearly dropped her marshmallow into the fire.
Then, all of a sudden they hear the faint sound of something large rustling the delicate leaves of the bushes. It was a bear! Katie and Julie scramble away in surprise and terror. They had never seen such a huge bear before.
Climax
Falling Action
Keeping their goal in mind, Katie and Julie agree to wait out the bear until the next morning.
Resolution
In the end, Katie and Julie realize that camping is a lot scarier than it seems. Katie enjoyed the thrill of the trip while Julie decided that the camping trip would be her first and last.
