- Sorry to interrupt ma'am but could you explain the 1st law again?
- Yes Sara. Newton's first law states that if a body is at rest or moving at a constant speed in a straight line, it will remain at rest or keep moving in a straight line at constant speed unless it is acted upon by a force. Maybe it'll be clear to all of you if I show it instead. Let's go out to the field and please come in a straight line.
- So as you can see the ball next to me is at rest, no form of motion can be seen right now. unless some force acts on it.
- Now that I have kicked it. it's going to keep moving because a force has acted on it and therefore no longer at rest.
- So are you all clear with this concept?
- Yes ma'am.
