  • I am going to teach you about the French and Indian War and all the events that led to the American Revolution!
  • I can't wait!!!
  • This is where the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1763.
  • In Paris!!! That's crazy! I've always wanted to go there.
  • The French and Indian War was fought between Great Britain and France. As a result of this war, Britain emerged as the dominant colonial power in North America and force France out of America.
  • The Stamp Act was the first of many laws that upset the colonies.
  • I bet! That seems extremely unreasonable!
  • The Treaty of Paris (1763) ended the French and Indian War between Great Britain and France. It was signed by the French and British governments.
  • This group of people were some of the first people to take action against the British laws.
  • That is a little extreme but whatever works!
  • The Stamp Act in 1765 was a tax on all paper in the colonies. It was the law that colonists hated the most.
  • The laws passed against the colonist continued to pile up making them angrier and angrier.
  • The Sons and Daughters of Liberty intimidated tax collectors by attacking their homes, burning them in effigy, and even tarring and feathering them.
  • A protest kind of like the one behind us right now is what led to the death of 5 colonists.
  • The Townshend Act was passed in 1767 and imposed harsher taxes on imported goods like glass, paper, and tea.
  • These British people sure know how to be hated.
  • Bostonians began to harass troops guarding the customs house which caused the troops to shoot and kill 5 people. This is known as the Boston Massacre.
  • I have never been to a protest before! I hope this one doesn't have the same outcome!
  • The Tea Act lead to a huge boycott against all tea.
  • I can't imagine my Mom without her morning tea!
  • The colonists were so angry they threw 342 chests overboard!!!
  • The amount of tea that went to waste must have been insane!
  • The Tea Act in 1773 actually lowered the price of tea but colonists were wary of the British attempts to collect revenue so they boycotted the purchase of tea.
  • One of these acts forced colonists to let British soldiers invade their home and forced to feed them.
  • The Boston Tea Party was a political protest that occurred on December 16, 1773. Colonists disguised as Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston harbor.
  • The "shot heard around the world" lead to the first battle between the British and colonists. Which lead to the start of...?
  • THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION!!!
  • The Intolerable Acts were passed as a retaliation to the Boston Tea Party. The acts closed the Boston harbor and removed the Massachusetts colony charter.

  • The "shot heard around the world" was fired in Lexington, Massachusetts. This was a skirmish between the British and the British and the American militiamen. This battle continued through Concord and is known as the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
