  • May 5, 1789: The French economy was in shambles from the 7 years war and the American Revolution. In order to pay off the debt of the French economy, the taxes were raised heavily for the third estate. This made the less noble people of the Monarchy demand higher representation in the government.
  • French peasants protest against the government
  • No taxation without representation.
  • How dare these commoners protest against the king of France.
  • Hundreds of peasants storm the Bastille
  • Because the peasants are unhappy at their treatment from the king, they have been rioting around Paris, stealing guns and armor from the many shops inside of the city in order to support the revolution. When they reached the Bastille, many revolutionaries stormed through the gate, the guards of the Bastille were few and couldn't hold back against the massive crowd of peasants. The governor war forced to surrender and 250 barrels of gunpowder was stolen from the prison.
  • Fight against the French tyranny
  • On June 16, 1789, The third estate established a national assembly consisting only of the 3rd estate, and a couple days later, they made the tennis court oath, swearing to stay together until a constitutional reform was made in France. Through this, they made the declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen, where every man in France is created equal.
  • The third estate established the National Assembly
  • Liberty and freedom to the citizens of France!
  • We will overthrow the monarchy
