- We do not want the south to have new slave states because it would not be equal representation and they will also use the representation to maybe expand more of the slave states on both sides which means that they will have more power including the fact that they have the Three-Fifths Compromise
- We compromised and wrote the Missouri Compromise and that draws a line between the north and the south so the north could have free states and the south could have slave states
- We want to have more land because we could use it for farming and we would have more representation
