PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF CHARLES' LAW
"The volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, if the pressure remains constant."
Hey, son! Going out? You taking the car with you?
Oh... It's okay, have fun!
'Sup dad! Yeah, I am. I hope you don't mind, I'll just be visiting a friend.
Oh wait! I almost forgot. It's winter season already, have you checked the tire pressure?
Oh kid... do you want your tires to blowout? That's very dangerous.
Tire pressure? It'll be fine, I won't take long.
Can you wait a bit? Let your old man teach you a lesson or two.
*Sigh* Alright, dad. I'm not in any rush anyway.
Okay so, let's begin with gas laws.
The protagonist of the story is Charles law.
In essence, the law says that in constant pressure, the volume of gas is directly proportional to temperature
During the winter, the cold temperature causes the volume inside the tire to decrease, thereby causing the pressure to decrease as well.
Tires with less air in them are softer, deflects more readily, and can be easily damaged.
Tire blowouts can be very serious and sometimes cause accidents if you're not careful.
Oh well, just make sure to check it and be safe alright?
Of course, dad. I'll put it in the garage first and check. Thanks for teaching me.
Okay dad, I get it, I get it. Jeez, I didn't need the science lesson.
