- Show a picture chart with rules and discuss certain words with students. Ask questions like, "What does the word 'Respect' mean to you?"
- Engagement
- Explain how students should be seated at their desks, on the rug and how they should line up quietly for recess. Then choose various students to get up and show good and bad examples of sitting and lining up.
- Consistent & Persistent
- Show consequence levels and talk about individual and group rewards. Marble jar, mood chart, star student-of-the-week, etc.
- Here, have students practice sharing with a partner, then group, then individual work. Use rhymes, songs, and physical movement to keep students interested.
- Teach enthusiastically and consistently every day! Hold students accountable equally, celebrate their learning victories and watch them shine.
