alot of africa struggled with their indepndence because some were still ruled by europeans
They were also sometimes poor and povrished, and they lacked the information on how to run a country
a lot of africa struggled with their independence after WW2
Patrice lumumba was the first to rule congo as a self ruling country
Belgium, Congos original ruler never taught the natives or anyone on how to rule at all
So Patrice Lumumba had no expirence on how to rule
Congo won their independence in 1960s
Patrice Lumumba was murdered and overthrown in 1961
it was only 4 years later in 1965 that general Joseph Mobutu took control, he ruled for another 3 decades trying to the place stabiles
mabey congo should have tryed to gain the US help sooner
And Belgium should have given them some leadership help
Instead of Belgium leaving Congo in the dust they could have at least gave them some information on how to be a leader
If they were to get the US attention sooner they could have helped fight against earlier communism and mabey even provide some schooling so congo could have lead better sooner
There is not that many schools and not many that would teach how to rule a country in congo
some issues that caused african nations struggle are the rulers just leaving them with little to no experience
I do believe that these problems exist today, maybe just not as often
