I love the electoral college! I live in Wyoming, one of the states with the lowest population. We still receive 3 votes in the electoral college. As a smaller populous state, it’s nice to know our voices are still heard in the presidential election!
Well, I hate the electoral college. I live in California, which is a heavily democratic state. Even if I vote, it doesn’t matter because the popular vote in my state will be blue. It feels like my vote doesn’t matter, so why even vote at all?

My state always votes republican, which means that most presidential candidates focus more on winning over swing states. Sometimes, I feel that my state's needs aren’t heard because the candidates aren’t focused on us.
The electoral college makes me confident that candidates don’t just focus on one region when campaigning. By having to get votes from all over the country in order to win, I actually feel heard and considered by the candidates.
Sometimes a presidential candidate can win the overall popular vote, but still lose the election. I think that’s silly. If the majority of the country wants a candidate, why shouldn’t they be president?
