- Good day and thank you all for agreeing to participate in thisinterview. We understand that each individual present has expressed some degree of hesitancy regarding the vaccine rollout. The purpose of this discussion isto explore your perceptions and opinions on this matter.Please be assured that all information shared will be kept strictly confidential and anonymous.What factors would discourage you from taking a vaccine?
- These vaccines do more harm than good.The side effects are endless ,ive witnessed it with my children who got vaccinated once
- Because of my religion,I just cannot put anything in my body
- I have done my own research online , and I heard someone on TikTok mention that the vaccines make individuals sicker in the long run with diseases such as cancer
- A recruitment advertisement was sent through various social media platforms to reach individuals who arevaccine-hesitant and willing to participate in the research process.Researchers conducted focus group discussions with participants who met the inclusion criteria inorder to gather open-ended, comprehensive, and more inclusive responses.

- I had conversations with my mom regarding the vaccine, and she cautioned me to me cognisant of what I am putting into my body. Also the government has a history of involvement of experiments on marginalized communities, which is concerning and I therefore do not trust the government

- The researchers then proceed to conduct semi-structured interviews, which take place in an individual setting, to enable a more detailed and in-depth exploration of each participant’s opinions and personal perspectives.

- The findings indicate that participants are generally well-informed about vaccines, demonstrating strong vaccine knowledge and awareness of their benefits. Perceptions toward vaccination are largely positive, with high levels of trust placed in healthcare workers, including community health workers (CHWs), as reliable sources of information and guidance

- This trust appears to play a key role in shaping favourable attitudes toward vaccination. Overall, the results suggest that maintaining strong communication and engagement through healthcare providers can further support vaccine uptake and confidence.
