Storyboard Tekst

  • We are going to watch a video about fossils from a real paleontologist since we can't go there
  • *zzzzzzzzz*
  • Ms. Walter, what are we doing today?
  • Hey kids, I'm paleontologist Kelly and I'll be answering questions about the fossil records.
  • The first questions was: where are fossils found?
  • IN THE VIDEO
  • But, for smaller fossils, tiny aquatic animals for examples, you can find them layers of rock, lake mud, ocean sediments, and much more.
  • Well right now were at a deserted construction site. This is a place where you could find a lot of large fossils.
  • Another questions was: how do fossils form? Well, Permineralization is when empty spaces in a buried bone is filled with minerals from groundwater.
  • And, casts and molds are formed when organic materials are fully dissolved & only the "mold" is left. An example are leaves.
  • Fossils can show how old the Earth is and how different forms of life have changed over long periods of time.
  • Ok, last question: What info can fossil records show or provide?
  • W-What happened?
  • They can also show a number of major extinction events. Which is when a large fraction of Earth's plants and animals died.
  • Well, that's it kids. I hope you learned something. Bye!!
  • That's great Brandon!
  • That was amazing, I learned a lot!
