Two twins named Romulus and Remus were born to a father named Mars. Mars did not want them to take over his kingdom so he sent them down the Tiber River.

The two boys were found by a wolf. He took care of them by protecting them from other wild animals and gave them food. Later on, a shepherd took them and raised them as his children.

Both Romulus and Remus went to find their own city. They both loved the idea of having it on a hill. They wanted it on different hills. Romulus wanted Palatine Hill while Remus wanted Aventine Hill. They waited for a response from the gods; they used both hills.
Romulus started to build a wall around Palatine Hill and Remus started to make fun of it. Romulus got mad, so he killed Remus.
After Remus was killed, Romulus named Rome after himself. He ruled Rome. Rome became one of the most powerful cities.
