- There are many minerals in the Rocky Mountains. Silicon is used to make computer parts. It's so prevalent that thousands of technology companies moved to Silicon Valley in San Francisco.

- Idaho is the home of many potato farms. Most of the potatoes found in grocery stores across the country are grown in Idaho.

- Salt
- Look at all of this salt!
- Utah's Great Salt Lake is the source of millions of pounds of salt per year. In order to collect all of the salt, it must be pumped into shallow ponds. Once the water evaporates, the salt remains left behind.
