  • They head back to Margarets office. Canadians like to be prepared, so Margaret gave Mr. Ivanov a file.
  • So, do you have any ideas or comments about the file that I gave you before coming here?
  • Yes, and actually I disagree with the whole business plan in general. It lacks depth, and I've seen much better work from other managers that I have conversed with.
  • Well, Mr. Ivanov, that's quite direct. Canadians don't normally like to address issues in a confrontational manner, but prefer to be more polite. But thank you for the feedback regardless.
  • It is uncommon for Canadians to speak and act in a harsh manner in their business deals and affairs.

  • Mr. Ivanov disagrees with Margaret's lack of initiative and action in the business.
  • Canadians like to work collaborately and being a positive impact on many people; they act unselfishly.

  • So, I think I have the next steps already planned out in my head. I will send them over to you as soon as this meet is over.
  • Wow, so quick! You Cananadians are definitely on top of things.
  • Yes, being efficient is a part of our culture. Alright, well I think that concludes our initial meeting. I'll speak with my board of advisors and plan the next steps for us. Take care!

  • Oh, I'm sorry. I agree we are not like Americans and do not take as many risks. Canadians like to take on the role of being a sort of peacemaker in business, so a large part of the plan caters to everyone as a whole.
  • Yes and that's where I disagree with you. Unlike the Americans that I've worked with, I just feel like the plan is not risky enough. You have a good foundation, but there is no sign of risk here.
