The Maze Runner

The Maze is made up of codes!
Thomas, a teenage boy, wakes up in a dark elevator. He has no memory of how he got there. When the doors open, he finds himself in a strange place surrounded by boys. There are no adults or girls.
Thomas discovers that he has arrived at a place called the Glade. It is surrounded by high stone walls. In each of the four walls there is a narrow doorway that stays open during the day and closes at night.
Thomas learns that behind the walls is the Maze. It is a labyrinth with scary mechanical creatures called Grievers. During the day, several boys have the job of running into the maze to try and find an exit from the Glade.
On the same day each month, the elevator brings a new boy to the Glade. Something very strange happens the day after Thomas arrives. The elevator returns, but when it opens the boys see a teenage girl in a coma.
The sun in the Glade suddenly stops shining. When it is dark, the doors stay open. The Grievers come and take a boy named Gally into the Maze. Thomas figures out the code and helps the boys in the Glade escape.
The girl wakes up and her name is Teresa. She tells Thomas that the Maze is a bunch of codes that he needs to figure out so they can escape. He studies maps of the Maze ands sees that the shifting walls spell out words.
