- NO, there's no teacher to hide under. OWWW!
- Volcanic Landforms
- How am I even still alive? And how'd a get here? I thought I got hit by a fireball. :)
- Volcanoes are ruptures in the Earth's crust that allow magma, volcanic gases like carbon dioxide, and ashes to spew out of the mantle of the Earth and onto the surface of the crust. They usually form on the boundaries of the tectonic plates on Earth's crust.
- Hotspots
- No why!! Why did I not look where I was walking
- Magma is stored in large magma chambers. When the pressure in those chambers gets too high, magma starts to get pushed upwards through the crust and out of the surface of the crust. (due to capillary action, which is how liquids, when under pressure, take the path of least resistance) This process could take days,but when it's done, the explosion could have devastating effects.
- Lahars
- After a volcanic eruption (one that's underwater), the magma from volcanoes eventually cools down. The cooled magma gathers in one general area and forms into solid rock. Eventually, more rock/cooled magma piles on top of the cooled rock so that it rises above the water, forming a new island! This is how the Hawaiian islands were formed.
- Sea Mounts
- Hotspots are places deep within the Earth where hot magma rises to just underneath the surface, creating volcanic activity.
- Lahars are caused by volcanic eruptions. Water next to volcanoes flows down the mountain/hill-side and mixes with mud creating a lahar, which flows down and drowns and crushes anything in the way of it.

- Sea Mounts are underwater mountains that rise hundreds or thousands of feet from the sea floor. they are generally extinct volcanoes
