I dag kan folk som praktiserer hinduisme finnes over hele verden, men den har sin opprinnelse i India og hinduer utgjør 80-90% av Indias befolkning i dag. Hinduismen har fascinerende skikker, festlige høytider og kloke læresetninger om individet og universet.

- Lord Krishna is one of the most beloved Hindu gods and is the widely revered god of love, compassion and mischievous pranks! He is a universal supreme being as well as the incarnation of the god Vishnu.Lord Krishna is depicted with blue skin and objects related to his adventures such as: the flute or Murali to play divine music and summon others to him; the conch which makes the sacred Aum (Om) sound and represents the five elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Aether; and the peacock, deer, and lotus flower. Lord Krishna is the main character in the famous Hindu scripture "Bhagavad Gita". Krishna Janmashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna usually in August or September.
