- The Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizens was issued by the Assembly while writing the constitution. Many women were executed for being outspoken, as the declaration focused more on the right of men and not those of women. This was a step towards democracy, because it created a rules that usually only the king can create, but people began to have a say in the rules of their country.
