How People See Me: Personality Edition

- How FREUD sees me:
- Id:I want that new perfume SO BAD. I'll buy it right now, in the full bottle!
- Ego:I'll buy the travel size. That way, I can have the perfume, and it'll be cheaper than the full bottle. Win-win!
- Superego:No way! It's too expensive.
- How ADLER sees me:
- Okay, so, if we add bromine to this brown solution and it turns clear, that means cyclohexene is present!
- How ROGERS sees me:
- Ava:I love working here, everyone is so nice and funny, it's a blast for real!
- Karsyn:I agree, dude! Best. Job. Ever.
- The id, ego, and superego are working to decide if I should buy the new perfume bottle that I have been wanting for a very long time. The id wants to buy the full bottle immediately, the superego doesn't think it is a good idea, and the ego comes to the conclusion that buying the travel size is the best option. It solves both issues.
- How COSTA & McCRAE see me:
- Ahh, yes. Tranquility.
- Being the oldest child has shaped my development and personality. I am reliable, observant, achieving, realistic, and take control in certain situations. I am curious about a lot of things, and I strive to be successful and one step ahead. In this example, I am working to complete a chemistry lab and leading my lab partners and I to conducting a thorough experiment.
- How EYSENCK sees me:
- I love looking at the stars, but the moon is my favorite.
- At my job at The Meadows, all of my co workers get a long with each other. Everyone is genuine, is accepting of everyone no matter who they are or what their life is like, and shows empathy towards others. This creates a good environment which has allowed me to grow over time as a person, friend, and co worker. This demonstrates the person-centered perspective.
- How BANDURA sees me:
- Oh man, that was a close one. Good thing I was able to keep calm and recover because that was a STELLAR performance if I do say so myself!
- The Big 5 include openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. In this scene, I am demonstrating my semi-low extraversion score, as I would much rather sit in and read a book while listening to classical music on a Friday night then go out with friends, especially after a long school week.
- In extroversion-introversion, I am more introverted in certain situations. This is genetic in Eysenck's theory. I would rather participate in less stimulating activities where the environment is calm than more stimulating activities in busy and chaotic environments. In this scene, I am quietly observing the night sky with a friend as we think about what is beyond our planet.
- Yeah. I like the quiet out here. It's so peaceful. Imagine how quiet it is up there in space...
- Reciprocal determinism is when a person's behavior is influenced by environmental stimuli. In this example, my calm personality in stressful situations, like when I messed up my piano song at a recital, allowed me to search for a solution to the problem rather than becoming overwhelmed. I was able to quickly recover and play another part of the song that I knew rather than stop playing and becoming upset that I messed up.
