Troy stated to bono "I ain't ducking the responsibility of it. As long as it sets right in my heart ..then i'm okay. Cause that's all i listen to"(wilson 61) Troy is a person that is very straight forward so when bono confronts troy about his affair he doesn't hesitate to tell him the truth. This shows that troy's actions are solely based off himself and he doesn't care about what anybody has to say about him besides himself so if it doesn't feel right to him then he wouldn't take part.
Troy states to cory "While you thinking about a tv i got to be thinking about the roof ...ans whatever else go wrong around here"(wilson 35) This shows that troy was the provider of the family and he took that role very serious. Troy had better things to be worrying about vs. what cory was talking about. This shows what type of man that troy is and that he takes care of his responsibilities no matter the situation.
Troy states to Rose "She's my daughter, Rose. My own flesh and blood. I can't deny her no more than i can deny them boys" (Wilson 74). Troy's sid girl passed away and he has to take his daughter full on. Troy is a person that will provide for his kids even if he doesn't like them and even if they have had hardships together
