  • Moses is tending Jethro's flock of sheep. He takes them to Horeb, the mountain of God. Exodus 3:1
  • God Introduces Himself
  • I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.
  • Moses spots the burning bush. He is amazed that the bush is on fire without burning. This makes Moses take a closer look. Exodus 3:2-3
  • God tells Moses to Free the Israelites
  • I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
  • God calls for Moses as he approaches the bush. Moses responds with, "Here I am." Exodus 3:4

  • Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?
  • God tells Moses what he should tell the Israelites. This way, they know Moses is helping them and their God has not abandoned them. Exodus 3:14-15
  • Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’
