THE accident!
After the accident
Phines Gage was a sweet, nice, and caring man. He worked on building railroads. Phines's favorite part about building railroads was blasting a path to build the railroad with his crew.
One day Phines and his crew went out blasting for the next railroad to be build. After the blasting, Phines saw a nearby hole he put his tamping iron into. After a while Phines twisted his tamping iron but there was blasting still in the hole but no sand to pack it down. Next thing you know BOOOOOOM!. Phines's tamping iron goes straight through his cheek bone behind is left eye and out the top of his head and destroyed the frontal lobe of his brain, the part that allows him to think. His team rushed to his aid. To their surprise he was fine and walking and talking.
The ox cart finally arrived to get Phines and his crew. They all tried to help but he walked all the way to the cart. Once on the cart he asked for his notebook. When he got his notebook, he started to write in it before he stops thinking properly. When the doctor heard, he got on his horse and RUSHED over right away. When he got back to his house he sat on the porch and waited for the doctor. Once the doctor arrived him and Phines went in the house and Phines got in his bed. The doctor started to check the damage on his face and head. Then all of a sudden Phines starts have mood swings. 12 and a half years later Phines Gage died.
