You know, our topic awhile ago in literature got my attention. I wanna know more about the Japanese Era.

Do you know that Filipino literature was given a break during this period? The Japanese imposed a strict prohibitions regarding any writing in English.
Ooh, so that is why the Philippine literature in English experienced a dark period.
But this had an advantageous effect on Filipino Literature. And that is why, for me this is the most significant thing they have helped in the Philippine Literature.
I know this one! Many wrote plays, poems and short stories right?
Right! The Filipino Literature widened because of them. This become an eye opener for the writers to write more using Filipino language than English.
In fact they've influenced me to write poetry and short stories. Even though the Filipinos experienced cruelty by the Japanese, we cannot deny that they've also helped us.
